This is a problem in the following scenario:

* Rhythmbox starts playing a new file and displays the notification
  window

* The window is in the way and I don't want to wait until it
  disappears automatically so I click it to make it go away

* Rhythmbox starts playing a new file and displays the notification
  window only now the pointer is in the window so the timer doesn't
  spin and the notification window never disappears
