Thanks, but the the conversion is already waiting for being uploaded at
http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/pkg-gnome/packages/experimental/meld/

If you find something to be changed there, please update the patch.

I'm on vacation, I'll upload 1.5.2-1 with the conversion included next week.
