I've just performed a new installation of wheezy on a bare-metal system 
and both Quadrapassel and Gnibbles are still segfaulting, regardless the 
LANG value:

test at debian:~$ LANG=C; quadrapassel
Segmentation fault

test at debian:~$ dmesg | grep -i quadrapassel
[  712.606087] quadrapassel[2637]: segfault at 18 ip b6970eb5 sp 
bff2f220 error 6 in libGL.so.1.2[b6937000+56000]

While running Gnibbles gives:
