Every time I run a gtk2 application from a terminal I get the message
shown in the subject. It may not be serious, but it is a major nuisance
for me, because I regularly launch text editors from the command line
and the message interferes with the next command unless I press return
an extra time to generate a new prompt.

There is a packagekit module for gtk3 but I can't find one (in Debian)
for gtk2.
