Package: gnome-power-manager
Version: 3.2.1-1
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
GNOME3.2 dims the display brightness unconditionally after ten seconds
while on battery power. This makes it extremely annoying to use a
notbeook on battery power for less interactive tasks like reading,
waiting for BTS to return a list of bugs ;-), etc.
In System Settings -> Screen, I have "Reduce brightness" set to
10 minutes.
I have found that SIGSTOP'ing gnome-settings-daemon stops the dimming.
After SIGCONT'ing it, the screen is immediately dimmed (and then
undimmed right away because of activity, so it just flickers slightly)
and then starts auto-dimming again.
