Bug#646687: gnome-panel: freezes after trying to resize a window

Package: gnome-panel
Version: 3.0.2-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I am using GNOME 3 with awesome, via a custom
~/.config/gnome-session/sessions/gnome-fallback.session

When I add something to the panel (alt + right click on it), a
seemingly resizable window pops up. When I try to resize it, it
doesn't work, and the whole graphical part of the window manager
freezes: I can no longer access the panel's menus, I can no longer
switch desktop using awesome's panel (but awesome's shortcuts still
work). When I "killall gnome-panel", it restarts and everything goes
back in place. Resizing windows from random applications (I tried
unison and gedit) works.

I can live with occasionally killing gnome-panel. However, a very
annoying thing is that, now, when I "killall gnome-panel" too much,
the whole session crashes with a "A something went wrong and you must
restart your session" message. Is there any way to disable this
"feature"?

Cheers,

Stéphane
