bug 607000 libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev: /usr/lib/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la is not shipped in the package

Compling gtkpod 2.1.0 with libgdk-pixbuf2.0-dev  version 2.23.5-3 failed for
me.It indicates the file "/usr/lib/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.la" does not exist,
which is what this bug references.

I did a "find" on /usr for this file and it returned nothing. I did a "find"
looking for pixbuf and la$ and also could not find any files. apt-file
returned empty as well. In ubuntu I think they deprecated this library for
something else as per

 ?

It looks like wheezy has the latest version of gtkpod so I'll give that a
shot as a workaround, but I wasn't sure if this bug should be reopened or if
there was a release note that I missed.
