Hi Andres,

I was looking for a solution regarding your same problem in 
debian.
I found that issue:

It seems still unresolved at today, so I downloaded the 
souces and had a look at the codes.
I temporary solved the problem by 
deleting manually a file jpg called "face" in this directory:


/var/cache/gdm/[your user name]

Hope that can solve your problem, too.
