Bug#668862: nautilus: Spinning wheel when "have file manager handle the desktop" is on

Package: nautilus
Version: 3.2.1-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I have turned on "Have file manager handle the desktop" in Gnome 3 Advanced
Settings. Now when I open a folder by clicking the file manager from the Dash,
or by selecting e.g. Places -> Home Folder in fallback/classic mode, the window
opens with the mouse cursor as a spinning wheel. The wheel is there for about
15-17 seconds and then goes back to the usual arrow. The file manager seems
normally usable during this time, but it's just difficult to point at stuff
with a wheel. On the contrary, if I launch nautilus from gnome-terminal, then
things seem normal, no spinning wheel.

If I turn off "Have file manager handle the desktop", then no spinning wheel
appears either (even if launched from the Dash or Places menu).

I have tried this with a fresh user account as well, so I don't think it has
anything to do with how many or what files I have in my home directory.
