Bug#668989: ekiga: Error while setting the frame size of Hercules Deluxe webcam

Dear Maintainer,

When trying to make a video call with ekiga (occurs also in echo test calls), a
window pops up warning about an "Error while accessing video device USB Camera
— Error while setting the frame size."

The webcam is a Hercules Deluxe USB webcam (I have no other plugable webcam to
test) :
Bus 004 Device 004: ID 05a9:4519 OmniVision Technologies, Inc. Webcam Classic

Changing size, format or rate does not seem to change anything.  Uncheking h261
codec (i.e. only theora is remaining) I get no warning but no image either.

Attached is a logfile of ekiga -d 6 with an attempt to use the video.
