The builds are both configured for python 2.7 hence no 2.6 extension is
built:

/scratch/gnome-python-extras-2.25.3 $ diff -us
debian/build/2.?/config.log
Files debian/build/2.6/config.log and debian/build/2.7/config.log are
identical
