Bug#655008: gok's shift key doesn't work

Package: gok
Version: 2.30.0-1
Severity: important
Pressing the shift key in the GOK keyboard window updates the gok UI to show the shifted versions of all the characters (caps, !@#...) but pressing these inserts the regular key instead. I think not having capital letters makes this important severity.
I got a workaround by using the caps lock key in GOK (which works for caps) but as far as I can tell there's no substitute for !@#....
