Could you please send us the -d 4 output when it crashes?  Try like this:
gdb -- args ekiga -d 4 2>&1|tee log.txt

and press of course:
thread apply all bt
when it crashes

Be also sure that you have ptlib, opal and ekiga's dbg packages installed.
