Package: gdm3
Version: 3.4.1-2
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
I've just upgraded to wheezy from stable, and my user no longer appears
in the greeter; I can still log in by selecting "Other" and typing my
account name. It may be modern policy for Debian that user accounts
should not be created below UID 1000, but for account compatibility with
a large number of other machines, NFS, Mac OS etc. my normal user
account's UID is 501.
This may be an upstream issue, but as far as I can see Gnome fixed this
two or three years ago by honouring /etc/login.defs' UID_MIN setting.
