During a recent upgrade, a checkbox marked "use colors from system
theme" got checked. I was using a black-on-yellow color scheme.
The "colors from the system theme" apparently caused gnome-terminal
to switch to a black background, but did not change the text color.
So all this mess started with me trying to read black text on a
black background. My immediate response was "well, that's borked,
they'll have to fix that quick, meantime I'll just use konsole."
Other people probably didn't see the bug because most of them
weren't using black text, or had different 'system colors"?
I didn't investigate further until it became apparent that nobody
was trying to fix it.
So the bug, apparently, amounts to this: The upgrade to 3.4.1.1-1
failed to leave user color settings the hell alone, AND failed to
make sure that new settings it was making for colors actually made
any sense.
This is not a gnome-terminal bug. This was a packaging error in
the upgrade to the current version.
Please close this bug report.
