Bug#678657: eog: Cannot save large images

Dear Maintainer,
I often scan documents with simple-scan and try to rotate them using eog.
The images are quite large (A4 docs at 300 dpi), and eog fails saving them
after using the rotate tool. Example

#at this time the image opens in eog, i rotate it and hit the "Save" menu item.
#this appears in the terminal window:

Note that eog's window displays an error message:
Could not save image 'LaReplique-1.jpg'.
Error interpreting JPEG image file: eog-save-SQQBGW
Maximum supported image dimension is 65500 pixels

I wish this could be fixed, at the moment i use nautilus-image-converter to
rotate images, but not being able to do a simple image rotation in eog is
an annoying problem.
