I am asking for advice. As a simple user, I don't know if this is the
proper way of doing things:
1) I opened "gnome-terminal" within the user X-session,
then I followed the instructions of the link:
2) I installed gdb + gnome-shell-dbg:
# aptitude install gdb gnome-shell-dbg
3) I started gdb:
$ gdb gnome-shell
3) (gdb) set pagination 0
4) (gdb) run
5) This is the displayed text:
Starting program: /usr/bin/gnome-shell
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
Using host libthread_db library
"/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1".
[New Thread 0x7fffe24d0700 (LWP 5771)]
org.gnome.Shell already exists on bus and --replace not specified
[Thread 0x7ffff7fab9c0 (LWP 5768) exited]
[Inferior 1 (process 5768) exited with code 01]
(gdb)
Now my question is, do I have to wait until the display freezes again?
The following question is obvious, how will I take the logged
information if the display is frozen?
Thank you,
robert
