Bug#694303: I can't lock the screen with startx too

When I start gnome with startx command

pravi at savannah:~$ cat .xinitrc
exec gnome-session

it does not start gnome-screensaver and can't lock the screen.

I guess it is a bug in gnome-session. Did gnome-session delegate
starting screensaver task to gdm3?
