Hello everyone,

I'm the original reporter of this problem. The problem is still biting 
me, but I've found new information that leads me to believe the problem 
lies in the gstreamer framework.

I switched to xfce and I started using the media player quodlibet. This 
app also showed the same problem. It also depends heavily on gstreamer. 
Then I tried the xfce audio player gmusicbrowser and the problem is 
gone. gmusicbrowser does not use gstreamer.

Furthermore I tested audacious, which also doesn't depend on gstreamer 
and it works fine.

At this point I'm pretty sure the problem lies in gstreamer, but which 
component? should we reassign there?
