Package: libvte-2.90-common
Version: 1:0.34.3-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

currently, the /etc/profile.d/vte.sh file is not sourced by interactive shells,
e.g. the one started by gnome-terminal. However, that file defines a function
that is required to keep the working directory when opening new tabs in gnome-
terminal (with "export PS1='\[$(__vte_ps1)\]'$PS1" in ~/.bashrc). Ideally, that
file would have to go into a /etc/bash.bashrc.d directory, but that currently
does not exist. Anyway, the way it currently is, that file is useless and in
order to keep the working directory in new tabs in gnome-terminal one has to
configure it to run a login shell, which is not what I want.
