as you've seen, I've uploaded evince 3.8.3 to unstable in the mean time,
which fixes this bug (#720845).
I noticed that it only uses poppler 0.20.0 API for some presential
things in the properties dialog, so I made the use of the API
conditional and that seems to work fine.

Unblocking #719227 again.
