Bug#731239: gnome-session-flashback: After upgrade the background does not refresh at all

Dear Maintainer,

After upgrading from GNOME 3.6 to 3.8 (when it was introduced in 
Testing), gnome-session-flashback not only refuses to display a 
background image (bug 729846), or a background color, it has also 
stopped refreshing the background at all!

So every windows, menu or dialog ever displayed remains visible on the 
background after being closed until it is overwritten by something else.
