You need to have g-s-d running in your session. Having it installed is not
enough.


Anyway, I'd like to point out that hijacking bug reports is not welcome.
Please file your own bug reports for issues which are clearly separate
from the originally reported issue.

I'd also like to point out that I understand that people might like to use
gnome applications in non-gnome environment but that is not tested or
supported so anyone who wants to do that needs to provide a solution for it.
If you feel this is important, feel free to file a bug about it.
(I'd suggest wishlist severity, since this is not something I'll be forwarding
upstream as I expect they have no interest in supporting your configuration.)
