   * What led up to the situation?

Dear Sirs,

I run a 64-bit (multiarch) system and have to install a VMWare's proprietary View client, which is 32-bit. Zenity is one of the dependencies.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

I ran: apt-get install zenity:i386

   * What was the outcome of this action?

dotcoder at dotcoder:~/Downloads$ sudo apt-get install zenity:i386
