Bug#709658: gnome-session-common: System beep ceased to work

Package: gnome-session-common
Version: 3.4.2.1-4
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I don't know whether I file the bug for the correct package.

Since recently the system beep does not work anymore (that is it's silent).

In Bash:

$ echo $'\b'

does not produce any sound as it should.

I have not changed the Gnome system settings for sound (and checked that the
volume of the beep is not zero). So it should work, but it doesn't.
