Hi all,
>From the titanpad it seems there are still a few things remaining for
the GNOME 3.8 transition to be completed .
"gedit & gedit-plugins
- python2>python3 loader transition
- needs zeitgeist update http://bugs.debian.org/714662
- gedit-latex 3.8 is rather broken
valatoys (FTBFS) - only in unstable, RC buggy since long time already.
gedit-valencia-plugin (FTBFS) only in unstable, but 0.4 should work
though (packaged in Ubuntu)
- gtkhtml4.0
evolution-exchange (FTBFS, dead upstream, superseded by evolution-ews,
RM bug filed)
evolution-mapi (FTBFS fixed in 3.8.5-1 from exp, blocked by samba4 /
samba reunification, RM from testing for the time being)
evolution-webcal (FTBFS, , unmaintained, dead upstream RM?)
dates (FTBFS) dropped in Ubuntu
eweouz (FTBFS) dropped in Ubuntu
ffgtk (FTBFS) EDS support dropped in Ubuntu
gnome-panel (FTBFS, prepared in pkg-gnome SVN)
gnome-phone-manager (FTBFS)
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-phone-manager/+changelog
jana (FTBFS - missing b-dep on libgconf2-dev)
syncevolution (FTBFS) needs upgrading to 1.2.99.4
ruby-revolution (FTBFS) dropped in Ubuntu
sflphone (FTBFS - conflicting b-deps)
http://bugs.debian.org/716855
tasks (FTBFS) dropped in Ubuntu
glabels (FTBFS) fixed in exp.
- poppler 0.22 (handled by pino)
http://bugs.debian.org/719227
- libgnome-desktop (libgnome-desktop-3-2 → libgnome-desktop-3-7)
requires newer gsettings with lots of breaks, should probably be done
as one of the last steps
gnome-session 3.8
- gnome-panel
- gnome-applets " - Michael Biebl and probably some of the pkg-gnome
team members.
Also saw http://people.debian.org/~biebl/eds-3.8/
basically it seems right now the poppler transition is the thing.
http://release.debian.org/transitions/html/poppler.html
which is somewhat higher in the planned transitions list (4th from top
in planned transitions)
http://release.debian.org/transitions/
This is to make myself and other interested users aware. Hopefully the
pkg-gnome-maintainers take notice and points out any mistakes made in
the list above.
Looking forward to GNOME 3.8 goodiness :)
