Works fine here. Which version of gtkmm do you use?

I've tried libgtkmm-3.0-doc (3.8.1-1) and libgtkmm-2.4-doc (1:2.24.4-1)
but can't reproduce your problem, so you to provide more explicit step
how we can reproduce it.
