Package: alacarte
Version: 3.7.90-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
     Added mplayer alias to .zshrc
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
     Added mplayer launcher
   * What was the outcome of this action?
alacarte seems to execute the entered command directly from filesystem and
so aliases stored in .zshrc are not minded
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Can launch zsh alias with a launcher in alacarte

it seems to me (if I did not do something wrong) that an launcher item created
with alacarte does launch the shell in a way that aliases stored -- in this
example -- in .zshrc are not honored.

I even checked the "Launch in Terminal" checkbox. :-)

The alias works fine when executed within Eterm for example.

Here the alias:

alias mplayer='/usr/bin/mplayer -loop 100 -osdlevel 3'

Could there be a way to fix this?

Sincerely,

Adrian Immanuel KIESS
