I've had a quick look at the gnome-panel package in SVN.
Aside from this lintian error:
E: gnome-panel: possible-missing-colon-in-closes closes #722022

the more important issue is, that my weather settings were lost after
the upgrade and trying to add new locations made gnome-panel segfault.

While losing the configured locations isn't great after the GConf →
GSettings migration, the segfault is something we need to address.
