System is a HP EliteBook 8570p with AMD RadeonHD 7500 series video, using the
AMD proprietary driver is used as installed from the Debian non-free
repository. It was upgraded from wheezy to jessie about 2014/03/31 with only
minor issues and updated about every other day since.

The behavior appears much as reported in 730093 and similar to 730399 following
an apt dist-upgrade that installed or upgraded the following packages:

man-db:amd64 2.6.6-1
