Package: update-manager-gnome
Version: 0.200.5-2.1
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
Let's suppose you installed Debian 7 "Wheezy" (the stable branch) with the
desktop environment XFCE, instead of the default Gnome 3.
Now if you install the package update-notifier, it will install other dependent
packages like "update-manager-gnome". This will create a voice in the
applications menu for the update-manager but... If you click on it, it will ask
you a password, but after inserting the pwd, the program will close
immediately.
I think the problem is that the program launcher created in the XFCE
applications menu should be executed with gksudo prefix (and actually it is
not).
For now, to solve the problem you have to modify the launcher manually so that
it executes "gksudo /usr/bin/update-manager" instead of just "/usr/bin/update-
manager".
