Package: nautilus
Version: 3.4.2-1+build1
Followup-For: Bug #682094
Dear Maintainer,
I experienced the same with with a regular vfat usb stick. Any writing
operation triggers a 'target is readonly' (or similar) error message in
Nautilus, while I have write access, cp, mkdir, etc. work in a terminal.
There is many similar reports for Ubuntu and Debian online, see:
http://google.com/search?q=nautilus+usb+read+only
This one offers also a solution:
http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=107470
The lines corresponding to usb drives in /etc/fstab seems to cause the
problem, and removing (or commenting out) them solves it.
This work around worked for me, as well! I hava had in /etc/fstab the lines:
/dev/sdb1 /media/usb0 auto rw,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/sdb2 /media/usb1 auto rw,user,noauto 0 0
Based on this, I hope this flaw can be traced down and sorted out easily.
