Bug#759653: Gnome Control Center (Date & Time) - Network time reverts to off - Debian 7.6

Package: gnome-control-center

Version: 1:3.4.3.1-2

Greetings,

On the Gnome "Date & time" panel, when you select "network time", the switch
turns to "on" at first, but after closing the panel and reopening it again
(even after booting), the "network time" reverts to "off" again . Basically,
there is no way to turn "network time" on. This is confirmed in several
machines with Debian 7.6 running in Gnome Classic and LXDE (built on top of
Gnome), both 32 and 64 bits.

After investigating the problem, I found a solution that worked immediately
in all machines: installing package ntp. I checked for ntp before installing
and all machines did not have it installed. The OS installation in all
machines were made with the Debian 7.6 DVD image with a mirror (US).

I don't know if that is by design or not (not including ntp on the
installation), but on all machines here the network time feature does not
work without that package.

Regards, and thanks for the great work!

Jamil
