thanks for the heads up!

I've just upgraded libgdk-pixbuf to the version currently in unstable:

[UPGRADE] libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0:amd64 2.28.2-1+b1 -> 2.30.5-1
[UPGRADE] libgdk-pixbuf2.0-common:amd64 2.28.2-1 -> 2.30.5-1

and the bug indeed disappeared!   :-)

So, yes, as Milan said (thanks!), the bug really seems to be fixed in
version 2.30.5-1.

I think this bug report may be safely reassigned to package
libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 , marked as found in gdk-pixbuf/2.28.1-1 , and closed
as fixed in version gdk-pixbuf/2.30.5-1 .
I am doing the first part with the above control commands.
A subsequent message to 709670-done (with Version pseudo-header) will
complete the task...
