Bug#740333: gnome-sudoku: Unusable due to version-mixing with gtk 3.10 in jessie

Dear Maintainer,

I'm using Debian testing (jessie, curently), and recently updated (aptitude
update && aptitude safe-upgrade) my system, thereby installing libgtk-3-0
version 3.10 among others, but not the "corresponding-new" gnome-sudoku 3.10
from upstream.
Opening the game now leads to the behaviour described in
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=725330#c0
(Parts of the GUI not visible due to a behavior change in GtkBox, as visible in
attached files)
Using the mouse-wheel to scroll down still works. The rest of the GUI is fine.

Seeing that https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-sudoku/ already lists newer
versions, I'd think that this version should be imported somehow. I'm not
familiar with the staging of packages (sid -> testing -> stable?), but I think
sid should  already contain a newer version than 3.8.1-1
