Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
I opened the Log File Viewer as I often do, and reviewed some log entries using
a custom filter for the syslog, set to show only matching entries and highlight
their background with a custom color. I left the viewer open in that state
overnight.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
When I returned to the log viewer in the morning, I noticed that there were no
new entries in the log displayed since about the time that I left it the
previous night. Feeling that this wasn't right, I disabled the filter to view
all entries, and tried selecting some specific dates for the syslog to view,
but I was unable to get the viewer to show any entries after the time that I
stopped using the program the previous night.
When I closed and re-opened the log viewer, numerous entries after that time
were present and viewable.
I suspect that this might be a result of the viewer losing focus, or possibly
being minimized?
