Just checked by performing this:

sudo apt-get install upower/stable gnome-power-manager/stable

Rebooted. GDM works as normal. Thanks! :)

Would it be a good idea to set thighter package interdependencies or,
at least, put a Breaks: gdm (<< 3.12) to upower?
