I've hidepid=2 re-enabled hidepid=2 in fstab for /proc, regenerated
initramfs just in case, rebooted, and all is fine: GDM works fine,
logs me into GNOME Shell, and the resulting session is properly
registered with logind.

Stig, can you still reproduce this on current testing or sid?
