Bug#737317: No hope for improvements

I tried to dig a bit deeper with this removal of typeahead:

The official guideline for the nautilus developers is, to only enhance
the typeahead functionality. While this is not quite possible by design,
there are at least two major bugs that make the new search impossible to
use for me.

1. <https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=693459> Usually you can
not even see the file name in the search result.

2. <https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=709107> Using the search
will reliably freeze Nautilus.

My personal experience is also, that the performance (with a brand new
laptop including SSD) is *very* poor. Even exiting the search can take
around 10 sec. without having done anything fancy.

Since I don't see any major improvement between 3.6 and 3.12 the new
search should be disabled in debian. Even no functionality on direct
character input is better then a feature that crashes the file browser
reliably.

Cheers
