This bug might be applicable to Squeeze (whose notification-daemon
package ships notification-properties), but likely not to Wheezy
(where it's not the case), so I'm marking it as fixed on that version.

I've checked with apt-file and codesearch that no other package ships
notification-properties.

@OP: if you still experience this bug, please feel free to reopen this
one, or perhaps to file a new, dedicated one, as the problem now
likely is elsewhere.
