I can reproduce a similar issue, which is that the directory has now
been renamed to something else different:

/run/user/1000/gvfs/sftp:host=castro.crustytoothpaste.net,user=bmc/

So this is still an issue.  People rely on mount points staying the
same, as I mentioned in the original report.

In my particular case, the files disappearing means that my music
program decides that it should forget all the metadata it collected
about them, so I get to re-index 8 GiB of music over a 3 MiB maximum
uplink.

Also, I provided easy testcases so that they could be reproduced by
anyone without a lot of work.
