1) Lock screen manually or screen locks due to timeout (and locking enabled on screen blank)
2) Move mouse or hit keys on keyboard
3) Get blue background and mouse pointer but no means to unlock screen
4) Unable to unlock screen except by switching to VT and killing gnome-screensaver
