Bug#739580: fails to start

gnome-system-monitor fails to start on my computer also.  I am running
an up to date jessie amd-64 system.  When I try to run it from a
terminal I get:
"Timeout was reached"

It used to run fine.  It must have started failing in the last few
weeks.
