 Hi,

 The answer to your question is that the warning complaining about
packagekit in the .xsession-errors file is gone ih my current version of
gnome-settings-daemon (3.8.5-2.)

 Just to be specific, I did not try to reproduce it. I simply noticed that the
complaint was there. I added my data to the bug report with the hope
that the info could be useful to solve the issue. Today I have not tried
to reproduce it either, I simply looked for a packagekit warning in the
same file and there was none (there were many others though).
