Package: totem
Version: 3.12.1-1
Severity: normal
Hi,
on several video files (typically, x264-encoded with mp4 container),
during the first seconds after starting playing the file:
* CPU is > 100% on process totem
* movie is choppy
This happens independently of current time position, and
independently of window size.
It doesn't happen (at all) with gst123 or gst-play-1.0.
After that, totem CPU usage is around 30% and a little choppy,
while gst123 CPU usage is around 20% and smooth.
Downgrading gstreamer to 1.2 didn't change the situation, nor
disabling all plugins.
Jérémy.
