Bug#767954: evince: printing of pdf documents and figures fails frequently with error (example attached)

We often encounter pdf documents which result in errors when trying to
print them. In our case these are often scientific journal articles which
I cannot attach for unfortunate copyright reasons--however, please find
attached one pdf figure showing such a failure on three different
HP printers (one old and two recent laser printers). It seems that this kind
of failure usually occurs with figures embedded in pdf documents, but I am
not certain about this.

This particular pdf results in printing most of the area (but not all), then
it stops and prints the following error:

* xpdf is able to print this pdf
* A Brother laser printer is able to print this pdf, but it fails with
  a similar error at many other documents
* This kind of error is not new, we have experienced that for Wheezy many times. We
  hoped that it will be solved with newer poppler/... versions, but this
  is unfortunately not the case
* The error message might be slightly different for other failing documents
* I am aware that this is probably not evince's fault, but some of its library.
  Please reassign it to the correct package or let me know which is causing this
  behavior so that I can reassign it, or if I should report that upstream.
