Package: gnome-orca
Version: 3.14.0-2
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
* What led up to the situation?
Icedove, orca 3.14, I'm writing a mail.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
While I'm writing a message, Orca is automatically in focus mode. If I disable
the visual alerts of arrival of new messages, it 9orks fine.
* What was the outcome of this action?
I didn't disable visual alerts to enable a low-visual person to see the
screen (Compiz) with Orca. And so, when a mail arrives, Orca leaves the
focus mode and switches to navigation mode. So I write, and suddenly, each
letter I type becomes a shortcut and it can result amazing results in
the final mail.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
Orca should stay in focus mode alongside I am writing a message, eucept if I
choose to enable navigation mode. Arrival of messages shouldn't make Orca
switch the mode.
