Bug#763291: confirmed on cheese 3.12.2-1

I confirm this bug is happening with the latest version of the 
package (3.12.2-1).

I am running a different hardware (built-in webcam of a Dell Latitude 
E5440).

Same error as reported in the initial message.

Note, I'm able to display video from the webcam using vlc.
