possible regression in libglib 2.42.0

Dear GNOME maintainers,

I seek your advise regarding potential regression in libglib 2.42.0 which 
wrecked mysql-workbench lately:

    https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=763356

Due to this problem mysql-workbench users are forced to downgrade libglib to 
version 2.40 from snapshots.debian.org.

Do you happen to know anything about it or have any clues how it can be fixed?
I'd appreciate any help.
