Bug#764316: gedit: line numbers not shown

Dear Maintainer,

When I activate the line numbers in the preferences, the column
on the left shows up but the numbers are missing (no matter of
what is the chosen color scheme).

I can't test version 3.14 in unstable, I don't know if this
has been fixed.
I've searched the tracker upstream (bugzilla gnome) and
couldn't find any bug related.
